Hi,
I started making my first steps with MERL, and it needs a bit getting used to. I was, however, wondering, if I could construct a visual DSL for MERL (or a useful subset), so that MERL code gets generated from it. There are a number of visual approaches to behavior/algorithmics programming. Perhaps a visual rendering could make it easier to use, also for non-programmers -- was this attempted before? thanks, Daniel p.s. it would need access to instances of MetaEdit+ meta model, but I think this is supported ... |

Of course you can! :) I wouldn't advise it though: first you ought to become a MERL expert, or at least comfortably proficient, before trying to create a DSL for it.
PS the MERL models wouldn't need access to the corresponding metamodel in MetaEdit+, but you could usefully connect them to graphical GOPRR models of the corresponding language |
