Hi,

I'm new to MetaEdit+ and have a question regarding its metamodel language. I basically wonder if this language can be revised by end users in order to include additional concepts? Specifically, these new concepts should provide features which can be utilised when making a modelling language (symbol editor).

Is this supported?

Sure, that's no problem. The graphical GOPRR language is just a language like any other, so you're free to extend it, or even create a new language which generates the MXT metamodel XML format. We and our customers do that ourselves regularly for cases where we want to make it easy for someone to build particular kinds of languages, or to add particular kinds of types to a language.

The symbols are stored in SVG format in the MXT file. There are a few additions to support things like connectables that aren't in the SVG spec, but they should be easy enough to figure out - just ask here if not.
