I am currently working on a project that involves developing complex distributed applications, and I am interested in incorporating the MESSAGE methodology into my work. However, I am unsure about the steps required to import MESSAGE into the MetaEdit+ environment.

The MESSAGE methodology is an agent-oriented software engineering (AOSE) approach specifically designed for complex distributed systems. It emphasizes the use of autonomous agents as central entities in the system. For further understanding, I recommend referring to the following papers:

  1. “Agent-Oriented Software Engineering: The State of the Art” by Paolo Giorgini, Jörg Müller, and James Odell.
  2. “Methodologies for Agent-Oriented Analysis and Design” by Michael Wooldridge and Nicholas R. Jennings.
Could you kindly provide guidance on how to import the MESSAGE methodology into MetaEdit+? Additionally, I would greatly appreciate any links or references to the MESSAGE methodology repository.

To use modeling languages and generators build by others you either need MetaEdit+ repository or a file containing the metamodel definition that you can import to your MetaEdit+ repository.

If you obtained a copy of the repository, just place it in the same directory where ’demo’ repository locates and it will then appear in the list of repositories for  https://metacase.com/support/55/manuals/meplus/Mp-1_1.html#Heading101" rel="nofollow - login .

If you have metamodel file(s), see guidance at User's Guide section https://metacase.com/support/55/manuals/meplus/Mp-5_3_2.html#Heading1916" rel="nofollow - 5.3 on importing  them to your existing MetaEdit+ repository. As the metamodel file(s) can be version specific see also https://metacase.com/forums/mec-file-in-different-version-of-metaedit_topic865.html" rel="nofollow - Forum answer on importing from different versions .

To obtain Message methodology implemented in MetaEdit+ please contact the authors having created it.
