As Project we are asked to create modelling language which creates Requirement table (ID,Type,Priority,Description) that takes those variables from user and creates class diagram from table that is given by the user. So how can we create that type of table pls help.

Hi Berk,

I see you're from a university, and several classmates have also downloaded. It sounds like this is a class project. The idea is thus for you to practise learning something new, as well as just to have the answer - so it doesn't really help if I just give you the answer. Smile

If you want to get started with that kind of task, I'd suggest you try the 'family tree' Evaluation Tutorial, which you will find in the Help.

Good luck!
Steve

Thanks for quick answer,

Yes we are classmates , 'Software Modelling Language' using UML is our project name and we are excited to use this Modelling Tool of yours.
We have already examined the 'Family Tree' tutorial.
It was good starter but we cant figure out how to proceed. We are searching for appropriate example for our project. We would appreciate if you can give us some tips.

Try thinking about what GOPPRR types you will need for the table you describe in your first post. What is the Graph type, what is the Object type, what properties do they have?

If you're stuck on the difference between a table and a diagram, see Chapter 1 of the MetaEdit+ User's Guide for what tooling is available, and 6.2 for how tools related to GOPPRR types.

Hi,

Sorry, you're going to have to think this through for yourselves. Read the manual, look at the examples, figure out what you want in general and - important! - how to express it in MetaEdit+ terms. Once you can do that, you can find what you want by the search function in the manual or forum.

To give you an example: the manual won't say anything useful about "classes" or "components", because those are the concepts of your world - your problem domain. Similarly the User Guide wouldn't say anything about "how to add Person to Family", because again those are terms from a specific language. Instead you might look up "how to add an Object type to a Graph type" (when metamodeling), or "how to add an object to a diagram" (when modeling).

Try working like that, build what you can, and when you can express your questions in MetaEdit+ terms you'll probably find the answers start to come more easily.
