First beta version of MetaEdit+ 5.0 available
The first beta version of MetaEdit+ 5.0 is now available. 5.0 is a major new release loaded with dozens of new features and hundreds of improvements, including:
- Eclipse IDE integration
- View changes graphically directly in the models
- Enhanced dynamic behavior of symbols
- Templates to include common elements in multiple symbols
- Dynamic ports shown based on component interfaces etc.
- Faster, more intuitive modeling
- New tools for managing model hierarchies
- Create large objects by dragging area
- New generator functions
- Generator parameters, local variables
- Conditional breakpoints
- Break into running generator
- New graphics engine with high-quality anti-aliasing
- Windows 7 support
The first beta is available for Windows platforms: other platforms will follow later in the beta period. The beta download includes a primer on the new features, and you can view the full list of changes from 4.5 SR1 to the first beta (5.0 Build 19).
To download 5.0 beta visit the download page and select the "Windows, MetaEdit+ 5.0 Beta" checkbox. If you are new to MetaEdit+ we propose that you first work with the 4.5 version: it comes with full manuals and detailed tutorials.
