Red Hat and MetaCase sign developer partner agreement
Red Hat Inc, a leading provider of Linux-based products and services, and MetaCase Consulting signed today a developer partner agreement. Red Hat will provide developer support and MetaCase Consulting will develop a Linux version of MetaEdit+.
MetaEdit+ allows companies to implement their own modelling tools, complete code generators, model analysis and documentation reports — without having to write a single line of code. MetaEdit+ 3.0 comes with support for over 10 modeling languages, from BSP to UML, and customisable code generation to C++, Smalltalk, Java, CORBA IDL, Delphi, and SQL. It has a full multi-user object repository, and diagram, matrix and table editors.
According to market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), Linux commercial shipments will grow faster than the total shipments of all other client or server OS systems through 2003. IDC research also states that Linux was the fastest-growing server operating environment in 1998, growing more than 212 percent in that year alone and capturing more than 17 percent of all server operating system shipments. Today, Linux boasts more than 10 million users worldwide.
