MetaEdit+ Academic Edition
MetaEdit+ Academic Edition is an environment providing tool support for your modeling languages and automatic code generators.
Students and researchers can use MetaEdit+ to define metamodels, study and create modeling languages, or build their own tools for their research projects - without having to write a single line of code. You focus on the language design, and MetaEdit+ automatically creates a user interface for your modeling language: editors, browsers, dialogs etc. The object-oriented metamodeling tools makes modeling language development fast, intuitive and cost-effective. As soon as you define a language, or even a partial prototype, you and your team can start to use it in MetaEdit+.
"The students were able to create user defined diagram types in a short period of time,", writes Jürgen Jüng from University of Duisburg-Essen.
"MetaEdit+ has proved to be a mature tool that offers a simple and elegant approach to develop DSLs", writes Nelly Bencomo and Gordon Blair from Lancaster University.
"Extremely user-friendly maintenance of metamodels, especially when compared to DSL Tools", says Risto Moilanen, University of Jyväskylä.

License Terms
To qualify for academic license pricing, the institution must meet the following criteria:
- The purchaser of MetaEdit+ is an accredited not-for-profit educational institute, and the use of MetaEdit+ takes place under the auspices of that institute.
- Neither the institute nor the users of MetaEdit+ receive any commercial benefit from their use or the artefacts they build with MetaEdit+.
- The artefacts built with MetaEdit+ are not taken into commercial use elsewhere. Often however we can agree that a commercial partner buys corresponding commercial MetaEdit+ licenses, normally including at least one MetaEdit+ Workbench license, and could then use the results.
The full terms for Academic licenses are available on request. Contact MetaCase for details.
